Over recent years people have become much more aware with the unfortunately high rate of relapse prevalent among newly sober drug addicts and alcoholics. It is said that, on average, 60 to 80 percent of all drug rehab and treatment center graduates will relapse within the first 12 months after discharge from a residential treatment program.It is important to understand why this occurs and why so many treatment facilities miss the mark in terms of offering effective relapse prevention groups & services. Nearly all treatment centers offer some element of relapse prevention within their core treatment program, however, the vast majority approach it from an across-the-board, cookie-cutter perspective as opposed to looking at it uniquely from the client's own unique perspective.
